Reduce the Appearance of Scars with CRP

If you’re bothered by a scar or multiple scars on your face or body, our CRP/matrix can help. This powerful solution, derived from your very own blood, contains a concentration of essential growth factors, which help promote collagen and elastin. These two proteins help healthy new cells grow where you scarring is, making it less visible.

CRP’s Three Main Components

CRP contains three main components, each of which is autologous and derived from your own blood:

Growth factors with anabolic properties: The growth factors that are derived from the body’s platelets exert an anabolic and regenerative effect on the skin by stimulating enhanced growth and function of stem cells, keratinocytes, fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and epithelial cells. This translates to new cellular growth in the skin, collagen and elastin formation, angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation), enhanced wound healing, and repair of damaged tissue.

Anti-inflammatory cytokines: Through their effects on cellular signaling, the anti-inflammatory cytokines can block the harmful inflammatory molecules that are linked to premature aging and hair loss. The inflammatory blockade restores a more balanced, natural environment, stimulates hair growth, and aids in wound healing.

Natural protein matrix: This is the key differentiating factor with the CRP/matrix. We use a proprietary technique to create a natural protein-rich matrix to serve as a biological scaffold to concentrate the growth factors and anti-inflammatory cytokines in the target tissue at far higher levels than can be achieved without it. It provides an optimal environment for tissue remodeling and regeneration. The concentrated protein-rich matrix resides in the target tissue for long periods of time, which yields longer-lasting effects.

The BioScar Process

A BioScar with CRP treatment starts with a blood draw, just like you would have done at your general practitioner’s office. Once we collect your blood, it will be placed within a centrifuge to isolate the CRP from the red blood cells and other impurities. Your skin will be cleansed, numbed, and then we will introduce the CRP to the area using injections, microneedling, or laser therapy.

The reason why we combine CRP with another non-surgical procedure is because we want to target all layers of the skin at the cellular level from the epidermal surface to the subcutaneous tissue. The goal is to make your scar(s) as imperceptible as possible.

Downtime and Results

Downtime and side effects are very minimal with BioScar, as the natural growth factors in CRP directly promote wound healing via cellular repair and decreased inflammation. Although bruising is common with injections, it should be very mild because we remove red blood cells from the CRP.

Results vary from patient to patient, but take approximately 3-4 weeks to appear.
