Meet Dr. Joseph Greco

Dr. Joseph Greco is a third-generation hair transplant surgeon following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Dr. Joseph Greco, Sr.—a pioneer in the field—and his father, Joseph Greco, PhD, PAC, a world-renowned hair transplant surgeon based in Sarasota for over three decades. Dr. Greco’s regenerative dermatology practice utilizes proprietary techniques that harness a patient’s own growth factors in a highly concentrated protein matrix for use in bio-enhanced skin rejuvenation, hair restoration, and personalized topical skin therapy.

Education and Background

Dr. Greco has been practicing dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery since 2007. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at Cornell University in 1997. He then went to MCP Hahnemann University in Philadelphia for medical school, where he graduated in 2002.

His dermatology residency was also in Philadelphia—at Drexel University—and finished his specialized training with a Mohs micrographic surgery fellowship at The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA from 2006 to 2007.

He completed his fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery, cutaneous oncology, and laser surgery and spent 15 years at the University of California, Los Angeles where he was the Director of UCLA Santa Monica Dermatology. He was also a Health Sciences Associate Clinical Professor in the Division of Dermatology, Department of Medicine at The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. In addition to being fellowship trained himself, Dr. Greco was privileged to have participated in the training of 14 Mohs micrographic surgery fellows while at UCLA. During his tenure in Los Angeles, Dr. Greco has performed over 20,000 Mohs and excisional surgery procedures.

He plays Spanish guitar music during his surgical repairs and is well-known for being knowledgeable, professional, warm, and light. Dr. Joseph Greco is the third generation in his family to practice medicine, and he proudly provides the quality of care and impact on his patients that he learned from watching his grandfather and father practice.

Personal Life

Dr. Greco is married to Vicky Greco, the Aesthetic Director at Greco Dermatology. They have three beautiful children: Annabelle, Sophia, and Joey. The Greco family is obsessed with sports and loves to travel, ski, golf, go boating, and make homemade Italian and Laotian meals with the family.
