Red light therapy offers a non-invasive way to stimulate hair growth, whether used on its own or alongside other hair restoration treatments. At Greco Dermatology's Venice office, red light therapy is part of a broader hair restoration program built on three generations of experience in the field.
What Is Red Light Therapy?
Red light therapy, also called low-level light therapy (LLLT), uses low-level red light wavelengths to stimulate hair follicles and support hair growth. The treatment is:
- Non-invasive and painless
- Deliverable in-office or through take-home devices
- Usable as part of a broader treatment plan
Low-level light therapy devices for androgenetic alopecia have been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for use in men and women, with most devices and studies using red light wavelengths between 635 and 900 nanometers.
